Our Trip to Martins Brook8/2005

The Imfamous Alicia
PLy likes to climb
Red boarding? How Unique!

I was in a bad mood the second I left my house. I was being a brat because I only had a camera stuck on auto, and the flash didn't even work. Organizing a trip is hard work when you're a whiney baby but I managed. I got in touch with everyone, and it worked out fine. One of the people we went with asked if we would need respirators. Alicia scoffed at even the mention.

We drove up to the North Shore and got PLy, who was going to be our tour guide for the day.

We first went to the a theatre building, which was really interesting. Since I couldn't take many pictures because it was so dark, I felt like I was able to spend more time just enjoying everything. The whole building was stuffed with old junk, and it was fun to walk around.

Afterwards we went into the gymnasium, which had a lot more light. I spent most of the time playing on a huge trampoline while everyone else ran around taking pictures, and PLy climbed everything. After abusing some gymnastics equiptment with Alicia, we left and hit another building.

Every single window was boarded up tight, and the place was wiped. Matt and PLy tried getting a board off for a little light but to no avail.

We went to the power station as out last stop, where Alicia's lungs "felt like they were shutting down". Matt took her outside for air, and we left soon after. Alicia ended up getting violenty ill, apparently from an allergic reaction to a metal compound in the power house. It was a few really bad weeks for Alicia, but she certainly ate her words about respirators.
